Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. We do not keep or log those search words on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep that communication within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive standard technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Device IP address
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent
- The referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored through a browser. They help show broad use patterns, such as which pages draw visits and where sessions end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for us. A visitor may block cookies through browser settings, though some site functions may then work differently.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Uintah County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material points to Uintah County Jail, Utah Courts, the Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification, UDC, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy notices, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern any query submitted to them. We do not control those rules. Read the provider's policy before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Uintah County offices, Vernal or Naples pages, Utah Courts, BCI, other state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. The destination's own privacy policy applies after a visitor leaves this site. Review it before giving that site personal information.
An advertising provider may use its own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under the provider's controls.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Outside search providers that receive a submitted query
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- A government body or law-enforcement office acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or loss will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2, governs access to government records, not this private site's visitor data. Utah Code §53-10-108 separately limits BCI criminal-history dissemination. Subject to the law that applies to a request, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information we retain about the visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate retained information
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to certain processing where an applicable law provides that choice
